IELTS Test Format & Scores

Each IELTS band score on the 0-9 band scale used to grade the IELTS exam represents English proficiency. Each of the four sections, listening, reading, writing, and speaking, will have its score on your Test Report Form (TRF), and the average of these four will be your Overall Band Score.

Score Requirements

  • Undergraduate admissions require a minimum overall band score of 6.0 in each section.
  • Postgraduate admissions require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 or higher.

IELTS Test Score Validity

IELTS validity duration is two (2) years from the date of your test result. If your score expires before application deadlines, you will need to retake the IELTS test.

IELTS Fee in Pakistan

According to 2025 update, the IELTS course fee in Pakistan is approximately PKR 65,000 to PKR 72,000, depending on the test format and location. Fee is subject to change by British Council or AEO Pakistan, according to the city, and currency exchange rates. It's best to confirm the latest fee with the official IELTS registration portal or your nearest Times Consultants branch.

IELTS Test Dates 2025

There are several IELTS test dates available in Pakistan each month for both the Academic and General Training modules. Depending on test center capacity, computer-delivered IELTS will be available almost every day, while paper-based exams will be offered four times a month, usually on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening are the four core skills covered in two-and-a-half-hour IELTS test. The Speaking test is scheduled separately, either on the same day as the other sections or within seven days before or after the other sections.
