How to Apply for France Study Visa in 2026 from Pakistan

France has become a top choice for Pakistani students who are looking for a world-class education system, affordable public universities, and strong career prospects in Europe. After admission approval, students apply for the Long-Stay VLS-TS student visa, which helps them to live, study, and work part-time  (up to 964 hours per year, roughly 20 hours per week)  in France.

A France study visa from Pakistan usually takes about two to six weeks to process after your visa appointment, often four to six weeks in peak season. Because the Campus France stage comes first and has its own interview and validation, begin several months before your intake.
For a France student visa from Pakistan, you must show a minimum of about EUR 615 per month, roughly EUR 7,380 for a full academic year (around PKR 2.3 million at current rates). Funds can come from bank statements, a sponsor, or a scholarship, and steady balances look stronger than a last-minute deposit.
The Campus France (Etudes en France) fee for Pakistani students is PKR 30,000 for 2025-2026, paid during the process and non-refundable. Scholarship holders may be exempt. It is separate from the visa fee and your proof of funds.
France study visas are most often refused for weak or unclear proof of funds, an unconvincing Campus France interview, a vague Statement of Purpose, inconsistent documents, or a study plan that does not match your background. A consistent, well-documented file reduces these risks.
Pakistani students should start the Campus France process about four to five months before their intake. France has two main intakes, Fall (September), the largest, and a smaller Spring (January or February), with Fall offering the most programs. Times Consultant advisors can map the right intake and timeline for you in a free consultation.
Yes. As part of the mandatory Campus France process, Pakistani applicants attend an academic interview at the nearest Alliance Française in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi, booked through the EeF portal. Clear, honest answers about your course and study plans matter, since a weak interview is a common reason for refusal.
